Lawded Competition Rules

1 General
1.1 Competitions
Lawded organizes and supervises four competitions related to the following law categories:
- Business law: Arbitration, Banking & financial law, insurance law, accounting law, contract law, corporate law, private international law, labor law, competition law
- Civil law: Civil law, family law, media law, real law, civil procedure, prosecution law and bankruptcy
- Technology law: Media law, intellectual property law, internet law, data protection law
- Public law: Administrative law, constitutional law, Tax law, public international law, criminal law, international criminal law, administrative procedural law, criminal procedural law, history of law
1.2 Organization
Lawded is responsible for the organization and smooth running of the Competition.
The Committee decides on the award of a prize to the Winner(s).
1.3 Committee
For each competition, a Committee is formed between Lawded and the Partner sponsoring the prize.
The Committee is made up of 2 representatives of the Partner and 1 representative of Lawded.
Committee members vote by head. The decisions made are entirely discretionary.
1.4 Participation
Participation in a competition is free and open to everyone.
The participant signifies his consent by checking the ad hoc box when publishing the work on Lawded (https://lawded.ch/publier/) or orally upon filing if published via the Lawded Collection.
The participant is registered in the competition(s) corresponding to the competition rights categories. The selected rights categories may be modified when submitting the work by Lawded at its discretion so that it reflects the reality of the categorization of the work.
The participant undertakes to scrupulously respect the general conditions of use of the platform and these regulations.
1.5 Conduct of the competition
The competition will take place annually from 1er January 202X to 1er January 202X+1. The first year of the competition being 2022.
On February 10, the Lawded representative sitting on the Committee will carry out a preliminary sorting and will choose a selection of 5 works at its discretion. This work will be submitted within a Committee
The prizes will be awarded on February 28 and communicated on the networks (LinkedIn and monthly Newsletter) of Lawded, possibly Partners, as well as to the Winners directly by email.
1.6 Disqualification
The work is automatically withdrawn by unilateral act in the event of modification of the work in the personal space of the user/participant (https://lawded.ch/mes-publications/).
Violation of these regulations may be punished in proportion to its seriousness. Serious violations, such as unfair behavior, deception, cheating, may lead to exclusion and a request for restitution of prizes.
1.7 Interpretation
If these regulations are unclear, Lawded is solely competent to answer the questions and complete them if necessary.
1.8 Modification of the Regulations
The Committee reserves the right to modify these regulations at its discretion without prior or subsequent announcement.
2 Prices
2.1 Price Determination
The Prices are determined annually by the Partner and Lawded. In principle, there are two per category.
They are displayed on the site (https://lawded.ch/concours/) via the competition page.
2.2 Price expressed in monetary terms
Prizes expressed in monetary terms are awarded in a hybrid manner, either a payment in fiat, or in a voucher from a publisher and/or one or more legal works related to the theme of the competition.
2.3 Price expressed in kind
Prizes labeled "in kind", such as summer internships, are delivered directly by the Partner and according to its own terms and conditions in mutual agreement with the Winner.
Lawded excludes all liability in the event of non-performance, imperfect, defective or other performance on the part of the Partner. In particular, this exclusion applies in the event of withdrawal by the Partner.
2.4 Awarding of the prize
The Committee is not obliged to award a prize or a special mention in the event that it considers that the work submitted does not require winners.
The awarding of the public law prize is reserved exclusively for a UNIFR student.
3 Results
The prizes will be awarded on February 28 of each year and communicated on the networks (Linkedin and monthly Newsletter) of Lawded, possibly Partners, as well as to the Winners directly by email.
4 Data protection
Participants consent to the processing and transmission of their data as part of the competition, in particular to transmission to our Partners.
5 Advertising
Participants and Winners authorize Lawded and its Partners to publish, tag and advertise the work on all of their networks, notably but not exclusively by featuring their names and their work.
The work of the Winners will be marked as having won a competition or having received a special mention on Lawded through an apostille.
